Chase co-brand DoorDash discounts turn monthly for newer activations; Freedom stays quarterly
A first-activation date determines whether eligible co-brand cardholders receive a monthly or quarterly discount, while Freedom follows separate terms.
TL;DR
Chase confirms a $10 monthly non-restaurant DoorDash discount for eligible co-brand cards first activated from 2026-09-01 through 2027-12-31. The earlier activation cohort stays quarterly, and current Freedom terms also remain quarterly.
- The change depends on the first DashPass activation date, not merely holding an eligible card.
- This is a checkout discount, not a statement credit or a cash balance.
- Freedom and Sapphire benefits have their own rules; do not apply the co-brand schedule to every Chase card.
What changed
Chase’s co-brand DoorDash terms now distinguish two activation groups. A newer enrollee can receive a non-restaurant discount each calendar month instead of each calendar quarter. The distinction gained attention in October 2026, but the qualifying activation window began earlier; this is not a benefit that newly starts on the publication date.
The first step is to open Manage DashPass and check when you first activated the eligible card’s membership. Being an existing cardholder is not the same as belonging to the older DashPass activation cohort. The schedule follows enrollment history.
Key details
| Category | First activation or card family | Published discount frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible Chase co-brand card | 2026-09-01 through 2027-12-31 | One $10 non-restaurant discount each calendar month |
| Earlier co-brand activation | 2025-02-01 through 2026-08-31 | One $10 non-restaurant discount each calendar quarter |
| Chase Freedom family | Separate Freedom DashPass terms | One $10 non-restaurant discount each calendar quarter |
These are separate published rules, not an automatic upgrade for all Chase cardholders.
Who should care
This matters if you hold a participating airline or hotel co-brand card and previously tracked DoorDash quarterly. DoorDash lists Amazon Rewards Visa, Instacart Mastercard and DoorDash Rewards Mastercard as excluded from the co-brand offer. A card’s partner branding alone does not establish eligibility.
The membership and the discount are different benefits. Eligible co-brand cards receive a complimentary membership period, then automatically renew at the prevailing paid monthly rate unless cancelled. The Freedom membership offer is separate. Do not value the discount as unrestricted cash or assume DashPass stays free indefinitely.
What to do next
The discount applies to an eligible order’s subtotal, excluding fees, taxes and tips. Keep DashPass active and pay with the eligible card used for enrollment. Minimum order requirements and merchant exclusions can still affect whether a small purchase is worthwhile.
- Verify the card and first activation date before setting a monthly or quarterly reminder.
- Select the available discount at checkout and check the final total before ordering.
- Use the discount in one order: unused value is forfeited, and it does not roll into the next period.
- Do not assume multiple cards create a larger allowance: the published limit is one redemption per person per applicable period.
- Record the complimentary membership end date and review renewal cost separately from the discount.
