Barclays Center opens an Amex Lounge for Platinum and Centurion members
The Brooklyn venue confirms lounge access and guest limits, while its dedicated Amex entrance has broader eligibility.
TL;DR
Barclays Center confirmed its new Amex Lounge in its October 21, 2026 completion announcement. Eligible Platinum and Centurion members with event tickets can use the suite-level space, subject to capacity. Check the event and your card eligibility before making it part of your plans.
- Platinum members may bring 1 guest; Centurion members may bring up to 3 guests, with valid event tickets.
- The dedicated Amex entrance and the Amex Lounge have different eligibility rules.
- The official announcement describes food and cocktails for purchase; it does not establish a standing free-drink allowance.
What changed
The new lounge is part of the venue’s completed renovation ahead of the basketball season. It adds a place to sit before or during an event for eligible cardholders who already have tickets. The earlier project announcement was a plan; the completion notice is the current opening evidence.
For someone attending a concert or game in Brooklyn, this can be a useful local perk. It is an arena lounge, so keep it separate from airport access when reviewing the value of a card. The admission benefit also does not replace an event ticket.
Entrance access is not lounge access
| Category | Who qualifies | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Card Member Entrance | Active American Express cardholders and their ticketed party | Valid card and event tickets; designated events and event-specific hours. |
| Amex Lounge | Eligible Platinum and Centurion members | Capacity applies; Platinum: 1 guest. Centurion: up to 3 guests. Event tickets required. |
| Food and drinks | Purchases inside the lounge | The venue advertises paid offerings. Confirm any separate complimentary offer before counting it as savings. |
Who should care
This is most relevant if Barclays Center is already on your calendar. Check the exact card version and any additional-card eligibility with the venue rather than assuming every product with Platinum in its name qualifies. A dedicated entrance alone does not establish access to the lounge.
Avoid assigning a fixed dollar value before a visit. A comfortable seat may be useful, but buying tickets or drinks mainly to use a perk can make the outing more expensive than the benefit is worth to you.
Before your next event
- Confirm lounge operation, capacity rules and eligibility for your specific card and event.
- Bring your valid card and event ticket, and make sure each guest has a ticket. The dedicated entrance is on Flatbush Avenue.
- Ask about the menu and any current complimentary offer before ordering; treat the cost separately from admission.
Sources
The venue’s completion announcement and entrance policy support this report. Neither source is a promise that every event or card variant receives the same lounge treatment.

Before you act
- Eligibility and availability depend on the current issuer and venue terms. No account, reservation, or statement-credit posting was tested.
