Chase Lists 2.5x The Edit Hotel Examples as Points Boost Offers Rotate
Two official hotel examples imply about 2.5x, while Chase’s general wording still says up to 2x and the broader community list remains unverified.
TL;DR
Checked 2026-10-16, Chase’s public Points Boost page shows Fairmont Empress at 27,240 points instead of 68,100, a 2.5x ratio between the displayed point totals. Another example is about 2.5x. Its general copy still says up to 2x, so these examples do not establish a universal or guaranteed redemption rate.
- The official examples partly corroborate community reports of a changing October hotel roster.
- Verify the selected card, exact stay dates, room and cancellation terms at checkout before using a reported boost to value a booking.
What the current official page shows
Sapphire Reserve travelers discussing October’s The Edit offers have a useful official cross-check: Chase now displays two hotel examples with point-count reductions of about 2.5x. Fairmont Empress is exactly 2.5x on the published numbers; Omni Mount Washington is approximately the same after rounding.
These are calculations from Chase’s displayed before-and-after point totals, not quotes obtained from a signed-in cardholder account. They do not independently establish the cash value of a point for any particular stay.
The published hotel examples
| Category | Displayed previous points per night | Displayed boosted points per night |
|---|---|---|
| Fairmont Empress | 68,100 | 27,240 |
| Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa | 69,200 | 27,600 |
What remains uncertain
The same official page still describes Sapphire Reserve Points Boost as up to 2x. That wording conflicts with the ratios in these examples. We can confirm the published figures, but cannot resolve the broader terms from those figures alone.
A community thread reports 11 hotels offering 2.5x and lower rates at some other properties. That full list and the reported reductions have not been independently verified here. This is an October roster discussion, not evidence that 2.5x itself is a newly launched benefit.
Who should care
If you are choosing between paying cash and redeeming Ultimate Rewards for a hotel, a changing boost can alter the points required without changing your card. Chase says offers rotate and depend on the selected card, travel dates, length of stay and hotel inventory. A rate seen for another traveler or a previous booking may not apply to yours.
What to do before booking
- Select your intended card in Chase Travel and search the exact stay dates.
- Compare the total cash and points prices for the same room, taxes, fees and cancellation terms.
- Check any hotel statement-credit requirements separately; a strong redemption ratio does not establish credit eligibility.
- Save the final booking quote and terms. Treat the two examples as leads to check, not a promise of current availability.
