Frequently asked questions
- How does the Bilt 2.0 calculator estimate points on rent?
- Bilt 2.0 rewards rent and mortgage payments based on how much everyday spending you put on the card relative to your monthly housing payment. Spending at least 25% of your housing payment earns 0.5 points per dollar on housing, scaling up to 1.25 points per dollar at 100% or more. Below 25%, you earn a flat fallback amount. This tool models those tiers for each card; always confirm current terms with Bilt.
- What is Bilt Cash and how is it different from Bilt Points?
- Bilt Cash is a separate currency you can earn (for example, 4% back on everyday spend) and redeem for statement-style credits, to offset housing, or to unlock bonuses. Bilt Points are the transferable rewards currency you move to airline and hotel partners. This calculator's Redeem tab ranks Bilt Cash redemption paths by value per ฿1 so you can see which is worth the most.
- How much is a Bilt Point worth?
- Point value is subjective and depends on how you redeem. This tool defaults to 1.55 cents per point (a common third-party valuation) and lets you change it. Transfer-partner redemptions can be worth more or less depending on the specific award you book.
- Which Bilt 2.0 card should I choose?
- It depends on your spending. Blue ($0 annual fee) earns 1x everywhere; Obsidian ($95) earns 3x on your choice of dining or groceries plus 2x travel; Palladium ($495) earns a flat 2x. The Earn tab estimates annual points for each card on your inputs and highlights the highest-earning option — weigh that against each card's annual fee.
